Body Found Near Pacific Coast Highway

An unidentified man falls to his death near The Beach Club.

The Santa Monica Police Department is investigating the death of a man whose body was found near Pacific Coast Highway Saturday morning.

Santa Monica Police Department Sgt. Richard Lewis said the case is currently being investigated as a suicide but no note was found, and the man had no identification on him.

"It appeared he jumped from Palisades Park," Lewis said. "He came to rest 25-35 feet from the roadway."

The far northbound lane of Pacific Coast Highway was subsequently closed for an hour and a half. The incident happened at around 9 a.m. Someone from The Beach Club first alerted police, Lewis said.

Lewis described the man as white and between the ages of 30 and 35 years old and 6-feet tall, 220-230 lbs.
