Car Chase Cuts Through Santa Monica, Ends in West L.A.

Police arrested two men after a chase that started in Reseda, led to the 405 and 10 freeways, and ended in West Los Angeles.

Two men were arrested Friday after leading officers on a chase from Reseda to the West Los Angeles area in an SUV that was reported stolen in San Diego, authorities said.

Los Angeles police notified the California Highway Patrol about 11:25 a.m. that they were following a Porsche Cayenne, and it had entered the southbound Ventura (101) Freeway, said CHP Officer Saul Gomez.

The CHP joined the pursuit, which led to the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway and then onto the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway, Gomez said.

Along the way, the Porsche traveled about 80 mph, Gomez said. Near Bundy Drive, the car pulled to the side of the roadway, where the driver got out of the slowly moving vehicle, tumbled to the pavement, and then ran down an embankment.

The passenger was arrested.

Officers chased the man to a nearby neighborhood, where he entered a house in the 2800 block of Pearl Street, changed clothing, and then tried to walk away.

He was arrested outside the house at 11:55 a.m., Gomez said. The names of the suspects were not immediately released.
