COMMUNITY MEETING: 1325 SIXTH STREET DEVELOPMENT
Where/When: , 1527 Fourth St.; 6:30 p.m. Thursday
Why go: The city is seeking community input on design, community benefits and other issues related to a proposed six-story development at 1325 Sixth St. Plans call for a mixed-use project with 100 residential units above 2,400 square feet of ground floor commercial and four levels of underground parking.

Why go: To celebrate its fifth year anniversary in Santa Monica, The Broad is turning over its stage to local performers, artists and musicians for a day of free shows. Arrive early because the first 600 attendees will receive free ice cream samples from.

Where/When: , 1348 14th St; 7:30 p.m. Tuesday
Why go: The Ross Sea Party, a Los Angeles-based indie rock band, will conclude its residency Tuesday at the social aid and pleasure club. The band promises the show will be its "biggest baddest night yet." Nom Nom truck will serve eats 7-9 p.m.

Why go: The Hot 8 Brass Band, formed in 1995 to play traditional New Orleans brass band music, swings into Santa Monica Thursday to headline the evening's free concert. Also from Louisiana, the brass players will be joined by funk band The Gumbo Brothers.

Where/When: , 1130 Lincoln Blvd; 7:30 p.m. Friday
Why go: From jazz to pole to folk, Hart Pulse Dance Company presents all forms of dance by bringing together dance companies and artists from all back-grounds and from across the U.S. The Santa Monica performance is one of six nationwide.
