Native Foods to Open July 3 in Santa Monica

Excitement builds on Facebook, where the restaurant is hosting a contest for 10 diners to win seats at a pre-opening dinner.

Lavender lemonade and kale salads are coming to Santa Monica July 3 when Native Foods Café opens its newest eatery at 2901 Ocean Park Blvd., according to its website.

Ahead of the much-anticipated opening, the healthy, homey restaurant chain announced Monday a contest for a diner and nine friends to feast on the vegan dishes during a pre-opening party on Saturday.

To enter the contest, write on the café's Facebook wall and share who you would invite and why. At least 75 Facebook friends had already entered by Monday afternoon.
