Venice Man Suspected of Scattering Nails at Airport

Santa Monica Police Department tells Daily Press that one of its employees spotted a cyclist dropping nails on driveways at the Santa Monica Airport.

A 31-year-old Venice resident has been booked on suspicion of attempted felony vandalism after a witness reportedly watched as he threw roofing nails on flight schools' driveways at the, according to the Santa Monica Daily Press.

The newspaper that the businesses, the subject of scrutiny by neighbors fed up with aircraft noise, suspected the nails might have been deliberately placed there.

A Santa Monica Police Department employee allegedly caught Jeremiah Kean Mayman peppering 1.5-inch roofing nails across the driveways as he rode by on an 18-speed bicycle, police Sgt. Richard Lewis told the Daily Press.
