Cleaning Your Artificial Christmas Tree

Buying a fresh Christmas Tree can be costly and a hassle, so many families simply purchase an artificial tree and reuse it each year.  However, storing it, even when covered, can collect dust and cause unwanted allergies for many people.  That is why these artificial Christmas trees need to be cleaned accordingly.

Giving it a rinse in the backyard might sound logical, but it can also ruin the tree.  So we have a few suggestions for you depending on the type of cleaning required.  If it is only a few dirty spots, then you may want to try wet cotton balls to clean the spots off.  Just be sure to use a dry cloth to wipe it off afterward.  If you want a deeper clean, you can try using soapy water with a dust rag instead of wet cotton balls.

Some folks might have left their trees in the garage and collect dust for a year.  If so, use a vacuum cleaner while using a brush attachment for a deeper clean. Since the dust will fall as you vacuum, begin form the top and work toward the bottom.
