2000 Hackers Descend on Santa Monica This Weekend

The participants are student programmers and the event will take place at Santa Monica Place.

Some 2000 student programmers will be at Santa Monica Place this weekend to take part in a hackathon, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The event begins tonight at 9 p.m. and runs through Sunday. The event is hosted by HackTech. The Times reports HackTech is a partnership between Caltech and UCLA’s network of hackers. The event is being dubbed the “biggest student-run hackathon ever.”
