Downed wires resulted in 5,080 customers being left without power for a time in Santa Monica, but service has been restored to all but about 650 customers by Wednesday morning, Southern California Edison reported.
The outages were reported at 7:39 p.m. Tuesday in an area surrounded by Pico Boulevard on the north, Martine Street on the south, Ocean Boulevard on the west and 17th Street on the east, said SCE spokeswoman Jennifer Manfre.
The number of customers without power was reduced to 1,355 at 11 p.m. Tuesday, and to about 650 by 7 a.m. Wednesday, Manfre said.
It was not clear what caused the outage, Manfre said. Crews were working to restore electrical service, a task they hoped to complete some time Wednesday afternoon, Manfre said.— City News Service
