All the Single Ladies (and Men) Love Santa Monica

Santa Monica, put your hands up.

Of all the hip neighborhoods for singles to mingle in Los Angeles, our fair city is the preferred spot for dates, and it's also the place to find the "hottest" bachelors and bachelorettes, according to a new Match.com survey.

The popular dating site said more than 1,000 singles responded to its questions about dating and looking for love in L.A. Results showed Santa Monica is the mecca of singles, earning the No. 1 spot in three categories: 43 percent said it's their favorite neighborhood to meet singles, 46 percent said it's their favorite neighborhood for a date and 43 percent said it has the hottest singles.

"It's no surprise singles love Santa Monica, a city that boasts the title of 'California's Most Celebrated Beach City,'" Whitney Casey, Relationship Expert for Match.com, said. "With some of the hottest new restaurants and swankiest nightlife, all located on a beautiful coastline, Santa Monica provides the perfect setting for the urban dater."
