The 28th annual Twilight Concert Series got underway Thursday night at the Santa Monica Pier with perfect weather and a large crowd that sung, swayed and twirled to troubadour Donavon Frankenreiter and Jeff Young's Song & Dance Society featuring Danielle DeAndrea.
Vonda Shepard—a regular on the TV show Ally McBeal—made a special appearance and belted out a rendition of Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools." On the show, she was resident performer at the fictional bar where Ally McBeal drank after work.
Co-produced by Los Angeles-based Rum & Humble and emceed by DJs from KCRW, there are nine free concerts left in the series.
