Black Eyed Peas Member Hosts Beach Run Fundraiser for Philippine

Residents can donate $10 or more to participate in the two-mile walk/run.

Apl.de.Ap, a member of the Black Eyed Peas, is hosting the PUMA Run/Walk for Philippine Relief at 11 a.m. Sunday on Santa Monica Beach.

The event, co-hosted by This Foundation and The LYLAS — the reality show music group featuring the sisters of Bruno Mars, will be raising funds for the victims of the Typhoon Haiyan.

On-site registration for fundraiser begins at 9 a.m. in the parking lot at 2600 Barnard Way and the run/walk will begin at 11 a.m., rain or shine. Participants can donate $10 or more for the roundtrip two-mile walk/run to the Santa Monica Pier.

All donations go the Apl.de.Ap (pronounced Apple Dee App) Foundation International for the Philippine Red Cross.

Apl.de.App, born Allan Pindea Lindo, is a citizen of the both the Philippine and the United States. He started the foundation in 2008.
