'Glee' Actor Visits Promenade to Promote Fitness for Cancer Society

Dot Marie Jones—who plays Coach Beiste on Fox's "Glee"—will be on the Third Street Promenade from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday for an American Cancer Society program to encourage women to have fun while getting fit.

Skip, hop and jump into shape Friday with Glee's Coach Beiste, who will join the American Cancer Society on the Third Street Promenade to encourage women to have fun while getting active.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Dot Marie Jones—a former world arm wrestling champion—and other TV actresses and personalities will bring nostalgic childhood toys such as Skip Its, hoppity hop balls and double-dutch jump ropes to Third Street as part of the cancer society's "100,000 Acts of Play Challenge."

"Each act of play will help the American Cancer Society spread the message about women’s health and the importance of getting active to help reduce your cancer risk," a press release stated.
