Moms to March for Gun Reform in Santa Monica

The moms will march with bundles of eight handmade paper flowers in representation of the children killed by gun violence daily.

Mothers from the Los Angeles Chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America will march for gun reform Saturday in Santa Monica.

The march is set for 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at Palisades Park, 1450 Ocean Ave., according to organizers.

The moms will march with bundles of eight handmade paper flowers in representation of the children killed by gun violence daily across the country, according to the chapter's website.

The "Mother's Bill of Rights," will also be read aloud.

Moms Demand Action was founded by Indiana mother of five Shannon Watts, the day after the Sandy Hook Shooting.

The group advocates banning assault weapons, and limiting ammunition magazines to no more than 10 rounds; requiring background checks for all gun and ammunition sales; reporting of the sale of large quantities of ammunition to the ATF and the banning of ammunition sales online and making gun trafficking a federal crime.
