Why go: California-based sister band HAIM, an indie pop band, will be joined by Wildcat! Wildcat! at this week's Twilight Concert Series performance.

MONTANA AVENUE ARTWALK AND SIDEWALK SALE
Where/When: Montana Avenue (from Sixth to 17th streets); 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday
Why go: A feast for all of your senses is offered at this third annual two-day event. Beautiful works of art by local artists, live music, free refreshments by the avenue’s restaurants, plus sales and discounts from the boutiques that line Montana Avenue.

"WESTWARD HO! VISUALIZING THE FRONTEIR IN SANTA MONICA"

Why go: Shana Klein, a Santa Monica native and doctoral candidate in art history at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, will present an illustrated lecture about the earliest landscape photographic images of Santa Monica.
