Power Outage in Santa Monica Affects Thousands of SCE Customers

Southern California Edison representative says 1,355 customers are without electricity.

Downed wires resulted in 5,080 customers being left without power Tuesday night in Santa Monica.

The outages were reported at 7:39 p.m. in an area surrounded by Pico Boulevard on the north, Martine Street on the south, Ocean Boulevard on the west and 17th Street on the east, said Jennifer Manfre of Southern California Edison.

The number of customers without power was reduced to 1,355 at 11 p.m., Manfre said.

It was not clear what caused the outage and how long it would take to fully restore power, Manfre said.
