Santa Lands at Santa Monica Airport

Kris Kringle flew into town for a visit at the Museum of Flying.

Santa Claus made an appearance Sunday at the Museum of Flying, taxiing across the street from the museum in a vintage WWII open cockpit bi-plane.

Pilot Kris Kringle wore a red flight suit as he piloted a Boeing Stearman with a US Navy paint scheme. He landed at the airport around 2 p.m. then taxied to the aircraft ramp across the street from the Museum of Flying, 3100 Airport Ave.

Visitors got the opportunity to meet with and take photos with Santa, who was hauling a cargo full of candy canes, according to museum staff.
