Santa Monica Symphony Orchestra to Host Free Concert

The 69th annual event is open to the public.

The Santa Monica Symphony Orchestra will host its premiere concert this weekend.

The concert will feature violinist Roberto Cani and works, including Verdi's "Overture to La forza del destino," Tchaikovsky's "Violin Concerto in D major" and Symphony Number Two by Sibelius.

There will also be a pre-concert lecture by Russell Steinberg, the artistic director for the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra.

The 69th annual premiere concert is free and will have open seating for the public.

It will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Barnum Hall at Santa Monica High School which is located at 600 Olympic Blvd. The lecture before the concert is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
