Teen Magician Performance To Benefit SaMo Boys and Girls Club

Derek Mckee serves as a role model for youth as a college freshman, performing throughout the world.

Derek McKee,19-year-old magician, will bring his world renowned magic and illusions to Santa Monica’s Pico Playhouse this week.

Half of proceeds from his four part magic series beginning Aug. 9-11 will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Monica.  

Mckee stars in the award winning documentary, Make Believe. He is known as a role model for youth in how he dealt with shyness and bullying to rise above and follow his dreams.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 9 with two more on Aug. 10 and a final matinee on Aug. 11.

The Boys and Girls Club of Santa Monica currently serves about 8,000 youth throughout Santa Monica, Culver City, Venice, Inglewood and the greater Los Angeles County with programs including education, recreation and leadership.
