Tree of Life Rededication Among Earth Day Events in Santa Monica

A ceremony will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Children's Tree of Life in Palisades Park.

The Children's Tree of Life, which was three times destroyed and three times replanted, will be rededicated on Monday, April 22, as part of an Earth Day celebration in Santa Monica.

The sapling was first publicly planted at a 1983 Earth Day peace celebration.

The tree was officially proclaimed by late Santa Monica Mayor Ken Edwards on April 16, 1984 as a "living monument to world peace".
