Venice Family Clinic Kicks Off 2014 Sack Lunch Series in Santa Monica

The event took place at Santa Monica Place, with Bloomingdale's presenting a check for $5,000 to the organization.

Venice Family Clinic – the organization dedicated to  providing quality primary health care to people in need,  kicked off its 2014 sack lunch series last week at Bloomingdale’s at Santa Monica Place. 

During the event,  Bloomingdales presented the clinic with a check for $5,000 and contributed 10 percent of tracked sales from the day.

The event covered discussions on health, wellness and lasting life changes. Speakers included Claire Stansfield, interior designer & co-founder of C&C California, Dr. Habib Sadeghi, D.O., founder of the Be Hive of Healing and an author, moderator Amy Swift Crosby, founder of SMARTY, the business network for entrepreneurial women and Kathy Freston, New York Times best-selling author with a concentration on healthy living and conscious eating.

Venice Family Clinic has seven clinic sites in Venice, Santa Monica, Inglewood, Mar Vista, and Culver  and serves 24,400 men, women, children, teens, and seniors annually. Ninety-seven percent are low-income and nearly three-quarters are uninsured. Most live on the Westside of Los Angeles County.
