American Film Market Conference Series Start
Comedian Adam Carolla will give the keynote speech at the five-day event.
The American Film Market Conference Series begins Friday and continues till Sunday at the Fairmont Hotel, 101 Wilshire Blvd. The five-day event will feature topics such as finance, pitch, production, marketing and distribution and ends with a keynote address by comedian Adam Carolla on Sunday.
The Independent Film & Television Alliance, the producer of the AFM, says the Conference Series will give attendees insight, access, value and a rare opportunity to hear from the industry’s global leaders, decision makers and experts.
In addition to the Conference Series, new this year is the AFM Producers Forum, a program for experienced producers to learn and network with each other. The Forum will include 16 educational sessions with experts and global leaders discussing a wide range of topics such as co-productions in China and India, working with sales agents, production incentives and working with U.S. guilds. Each day’s sessions will be followed by a private, hosted networking reception.

“The new AFM Producers Forum will provide experienced producers with knowledge on a wide range of topics that are most important to working professionals along with exclusive social activities.” AFM Managing Director Jonathan Wolf stated in a press release. “We are looking forward to hosting the global film industry’s best and brightest with this new program.”
The AFM opened in Santa Monica on Tuesday for an eight-day run with a six-year high of more than 8,000 participants, according to the IFTA.
