Brian Wilson, Other Celebs at Heal the Bay Gala: See Exclusive Pics

Amy Smart and Tia Carrere were among the stars who attended the nonprofit's big benefit on Thursday night.

Heal the Bay hosted its annual fundraising dinner on Thursday night. Actresses Amy Smart and Tia Carrere were among the hundreds of guests who attended the 20th annual gala, which lasted from 5 to 11 p.m.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys was the featured performer at the event, which was dubbed "The Ultimate Beach Party." It took place at the Jonathan Beach Club, on the sand.

In addition to food and music, "The Ultimate Beach Party" featured an auction, cocktail reception and awards. Attendees bid on a 2011 Ford Escape hybrid vehicle that was auctioned off.

Award recipients included the California State Coastal Conservancy, a state agency that was thanked for providing grants to fund watershed management and programs at the , which is operated by Heal the Bay.

Homerun Entertainment—a production company of which Heal the Bay board member Barry Gribbon is a co-founder and principal—was honored for producing the Bring Back the Beach event for free in each of the last seven years.

Finally, Don Smith was recognized for heading up sewer-system and treatment-plant improvements that have boosted water quality in Santa Monica Bay. He is the former manager of the Hyperion Treatment Plant and program director of the City of Los Angeles Wastewater.
