The 6th Annual Sri Lanka Day Expo is the biggest event held in the United States and is hosted by by the Sri Lanka Foundation. The festivities include a Sri Lanka Curry Festival featuring exotic delicascies such as 'Hoppers', 'Kottu Roti', 'Rice and Curry', 'String Hoppers','Pol Roti', 'Short Eats' and Sweets. A stage near Wilshire Boulevard will feature non-stop entertainment with traditional Sri Lankan dancers, drummers and performers in full costume, as well as musicians playing pop music. At 4pm the Sri Lanka Day Parade will stroll down the Promenade, with a theatre elephant in homage to the annual "Esala Perahera" event, that honors a sacred tooth relic belonging to Buddha.
