Diavolo

If you’re wearing socks, they’ll be knocked off by Diavolo Dance Theater, an internationally renowned modern acrobatic dance company of dancers, gymnasts, actors, and athletes. Influenced by the documentary, Dogtown and Z-Boys, their kinetic and witty new piece Transit Space explores themes of feeling lost, a sense of purpose, and coming together while using skateboard ramps as set pieces to represent an urban environment in this California premiere. Under Artistic Director Jacques Heim, fourteen performers leap, fly, and spin with power, elegance, and a thrill of danger that will make Westsiders realize why Diavolo has been officially recognized as a cultural treasure by the City of Los Angeles.
