The new Spring 2012 collection is inspired by the vibrant blue and white hues of cloud formations that Christina Kim photographed while flying over Acapulco, Mexico. Kim’s photographs were used by artisans at Taller de Papel Oaxaca, a workshop that continues the Mexican tradition of hand-making paper with local materials, as inspiration to create 15 distinctive hues of blue that match the photographs’ vivid pixels. dosa translated these hues onto hand-dyed textiles, and created clothing for the new collection made from organic, hand-woven Khadi fabric, as well as from embroidered fabrics made from recycled materials. Christina Kim has also created a collection of new items available exclusively at SMMoA during the dosa for SMMoA shop.
