The History of the Lifeguards of Santa Monica Bay

Each year more than 50 million people visit the beaches of the Santa Monica Bay to enjoy swimming, surfing and sunbathing.  12,000 of those beach-goers get into trouble and owe their lives to the skill and bravery of local lifeguards.  Dr. Verge is one of those guards and on Thursday, September 22nd he will talk about the challenges and dangers inherent to his work.
