Jacaranda presents counter-culture icon Terry Riley’s “Olson III” in first U.S. rendition of the work as Riley intended it to be performed. Some 100 singers and instrumentalists, including Los Angeles Children’s Chorus members, will perform this experimental piece by the father of minimalism, which caused a near-riot at its 1967 Stockholm premiere. To open the program, internationally acclaimed violinist Alyssa Park will solo in Lou Harrison’s “Suite for Violin, Strings, Piano, Celesta and Two Harps.”
