Jazz on the Lawn

Bring the children, family and friends of all ages! Santa Monica Cultural Affairs presents the 7th annual Jazz on the Lawn summer concert series at a new location this year - Stewart Street Park located at 1836 Stewart Street. Bring a picnic, blanket and beach chair, and enjoy a sampling of free jazz each Sunday in August from 5-7pm. Each week features a different style of jazz: August 5 - Dustbowl Revival plays New Orleans swing, gypsy jazz, Appalachian folk and jug-band blues; August 12 - Zane Musa Quartet plays a sax-led blend of traditional jazz with contemporary music; August 19 - The Ronnie Gutierrez Band featuring Leslie Paula plays old school salsa, cha cha and Latin Jazz, plus a free salsa lesson will be offered from 4:30-5pm; August 26 - Rogelio Mitchell & Friends play Calypso, reggae, soca & jazz. Cool off with a frozen treat from Beachy Cream offering 100% Organic Ice Cream & Sweet Treats, or Frozen Crush, offering the Ultimate Italian Ice. Complimentary drinks will be provided by IZZE Beverage Company and Just Chill Inc. Free parking is available after 3:30pm across the street at 1831 Stewart Street and free bike valet is available in Stewart Street Park’s lot.
