The 20-plus member chorus will put you in the holiday spirit with its performance of songs of the season and Broadway tunes.
The Lyric Chorus, directed by Bill Elliott since 1986, was founded in the 1940s as Santa Monica Lyric Chorus. The three-part women's chorus became part of Emeritus College when Santa Monica College began its Emeritus College program. Mr. Elliott knew about both choruses when he moved to Los Angeles from New York in the 1980s because his mother had sung with the group for many years. Assistant director and pianist Tom Gerhold has accompanied the Lyric Chorus and other Santa Monica College classes for over twenty years and is on staff at LACC. "If you like singing, please join us," encourages Elliott.
