Sideways the Play

Sideways, the widely acclaimed novel by Rex Pickett, receives its world stage premiere as "Sideways the Play" at the Ruskin Group Theatre. Previously adapted as a film in 2004, Sideways garnered numerous nominations and awards, including an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, four NY Film Critics Circle Awards, a SAG Award, six IFP Independent Spirit Awards, and is one of the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Top Ten Films of 2004.

Sideways the Play, adapted by Rex Pickett from his own novel, follows two friends – Miles and Jack – and their journey across the Santa Ynez wine country on one last blowout trip before Jack gets married. Along the way, Miles and Jack must face their uncertain futures…just as soon as they figure out how to survive their chaotic present.

“Sideways the Play” opens on Friday, May 18, and runs through July 22. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm, at the Ruskin Group Theatre on 3000 Airport Road, Santa Monica, CA, 90405. Tickets: $25.
