Why Go: Pretty much every member of your family will squeal with delight when they encounter one of the magicians who can be found performing feats of wonder Sunday afternoons at the center. After watching some tricks, explore the Houdini: Art and Magic exhibit to see some of his original props! And then perhaps try to start with some beginner tricks at home before stuffing yourself into a locked suitcase. Just a suggestion.

Price: Free with museum admission

2. SEA HORSES!

Where/When: ; Monday, 2 to 6 p.m.

Why Go: Technically, you can’t ride sea horses. But despite this flaw (or if you want to get all proper, Hippocampus Ingens) check out this brand-new exhibit debuts at the aquarium. You'll coo over their cuteness (which more than makes up for the fact that you can’t properly saddle them up).

Pricing: 12 and under, free; 13 and up, suggested $5 donation

3. PRESCHOOL STORY TIME

Where/When: ; Wednesday, 10:30 to 11:10 a.m.

Why Go: Have a lively good time with stories and crafts designed especially for those energetic 3- to 5-year-olds!

Pricing: Free
