BUG FAIR

Where/When: Natural History Museum; May 14 to 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Now in its 25th year, this annual fest celebrating all that is creepy and crawly has gone all out. Brace yourself for cockroach races, insect art, stilted butterflies, complimentary beverages, plus more than 70 exhibitors with all sorts of bug-related equipment, books and toys! Then head over to the colorful or the Ice Age Encounters. Or just continue to hang with the cockroaches.

Pricing: Included with museum admission

PONY RIDES AND PETTING ZOO

Where/When: Brentwood Country Mart; Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Delight in the warm spring sunshine while your child enjoys a thrilling trot on a cute pony and then pets a cute chicken or super-soft fuzzy goat. Then head to Reddi Chick for one of their famous chicken baskets and top it all off with a scoop of ice cream from Sweet Rose Ice Creamery. Or just skip the pony, animals and lunch altogether and go straight for the rich ice cream. You can’t go wrong here!

ANGELINA BALLERINA TEA PARTY

Where/When: ; May 14 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Why Go: The much-loved classic comes to life with a lively reading and an introductory ballet class by Dance Studio No. 1, followed by tasty treats and ballet-themed crafts. It's a little ballerina’s dream come true!

TODDLERAMA

Where/When: Temescal Canyon Gateway Park; May 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: This outdoor festival has just about everything a toddler could ask for in fun event: parachute play, face-painting, bubbles, story times, bouncy houses, art, dance, music, plus yummy snacks. You might have trouble convincing your child to leave!
