Grammy Organizers Announce Performers Lineup at Santa Monica Headquarters

The 56th annual award show will air on CBS on Jan. 26.

Organizers of the upcoming 56th annual Grammy Awards announced Tuesday several additional performers for the telecast, including Katy Perry, Metallica and Stevie Wonder.

The award show is scheduled for Jan. 26 at Staples Center, hosted by Grammy winner LL Cool J, now of "NCIS: Los Angeles." It will be broadcast by CBS from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Previously announced performers include Grammy nominees Kendrick Lamar joined by Imagine Dragons, Lang Lang, Pink, Nate Ruess of Fun, Grammy nominee Daft Punk and nominee Robin Thicke with Grammy-winning group Chicago, which will be performing at a Grammy telecast for the first time.

Also planned is a special performance featuring Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, and current nominee Blake Shelton.

This morning, the Recording Academy announced from its headquarters in Santa Monica that Gammy nominees Lorde and Katy Perry would perform as well, along with Metallica, Nile Rodgers of Chic, nominee Pharrell Williams, and 25- time Grammy winner Stevie Wonder.

The award show will mark Lorde's first performance on a Grammy awards telecast and Pharrell Williams' first Grammy performance since the 46th Grammys in 2004, a statement said. Metallica will be performing on the Grammy  stage for the first time in 23 years; they last performed at the 33rd Grammy Awards in 1991. Lang Lang last performed at the 50th Grammy Awards in 2008.
