Punk-Rock Concerts Slated for Civic Auditorium

Bad Religion, Descendents and Social Distortion will headline three shows in mid-December.

The has booked what appears to be its biggest music event of 2011—if not the biggest 2011 music event in all of Santa Monica.

Legendary Southern California punk bands, including Bad Religion, Descendents and Social Distortion, will descend on the venue on in mid-December for GV30, a three-day series of concerts commemorating the 30th anniversary of Los Angeles-based concert promoter Goldenvoice. The shows will be presented by KROQ.

"The artists and line-up for these special shows were chosen to reflect the bands that embraced and were instrumental in building Goldenvoice from day 1," read a statement from Goldenvoice. "Like us, they had just the right screws loose. Because of their support past and present, Goldenvoice was able to flourish and become a part of the Southern California music scene.

"These bands took a chance on us 30 years ago, and continue to be a big part of what we do today," the statement continued. "We are excited for them to help us honor our first 30 years!"

Social Distortion, X and Adolescents will perform on Dec. 16, followed by Bad Religion, Youth Brigade and T.S.O.L. the following day. The final concert, to be held Dec. 18, will feature Descendents, The Vandals and The Dickies. Each show will start at 6 p.m.

There will be single-day and three-day passes, ranging from $33 to $99. They go on sale on Ticketmaster.com on Saturday at 12 p.m. Tickets will also be available at L.A. record stores such as Black Hole Records, Fingerprints, Glasshouse Records, Headline Records and Origami Vinyl.

Members of the KROQ Street Team will be invited to an exclusive ticket presale on Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
