'Tragedy of the Commons': See Pics

The play runs through Nov. 6 at the Ruskin Group Theatre.

The Tragedy of the Commons, a new play that was written by Stephen Metcalfe and examines the routines of daily life, is in the middle of its run at the . It stars Emmy-nominated actor Brian Kerwin, who appeared in the hit movie The Help.

"Kerwin delivers a standout performance," the LAist opined. "Metcalfe has written a thoughtful bit of prose about the tragedies that shape our common lives, and the Ruskin has done it justice."

Metcalf wrote the production drafts to blockbuster movies including Pretty Woman, Arachnophobia and Mr. Holland’s Opus. Dave Florek, the director of The Tragedy of the Commons, previously helmed theatrical productions of Rabbit Hole, Marvin’s Room and The Laramie Project.

The play made its Los Angeles-area debut at the theater late last month. Performances will continue on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m., through Nov. 6. Tickets are $25.
