Watch: Third Street Promenade in New Maroon 5 Video

Playing for Change project returns to Santa Monica to film street performer Chelsea Williams in Maroon 5's new music video, The Daylight.

Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. tipped us off to this new Maroon 5 video, "The Daylight (Playing For Change)"—part of the Playing For Change music project series—that features the Third Street Promenade and one of its performers, Chelsea Williams.

The beach also gets prominent play in the video (sorry, ladies, Adam Levine's abs do not). "They filmed all over Santa Monica," DTSM said.

A video music project that connects artists around the world, Playing for Change got its start on the Promenade in 2004 when producer Mark Johnson heard, and then decided to film, street performer Roger Ridley singing "Stand by Me."

Nicknamed the "the voice of God," Ridley starred in the project's first video. His soulful rendition was pieced together with "Grandpa Elliott" singing the same song in New Orleans with "Washboard Chaz."
