Albertsons, Ralphs and Vons Reach Tentative Labor Agreement

Pension packages are being negotiated.

Late Friday, Vons, Ralphs and Albertsons announced that they had reached a tentative labor agreement with the United Food and Commercial Workers Locals.

The labor organization, which covers 60,000-plus workers in the Los Angeles area, has been negotiating pension packages with the grocery stores.

“We are pleased to have reached an agreement on this important part of the new labor agreement," the companies said in a joint statement. "While we still have more work to do on other important parts of the contract, it is noteworthy we have been able to reach an agreement on the very challenging issue of pension benefits and the employers’ contributions which fund those benefits.”
