Blue Plate Taco to Open Sunday at Shore Hotel

Doors open at 11 a.m. for lunch. Sip an agua fresca while taking in the ocean view.

Blue Plate Taco, Shore Hotel's first on-site restaurant, will open Sunday with a menu that includes lobster truffle tacos, salmon chilaquiles and alcoholic agua frescas.

With seating for about 90 guests, the breezy restaurant offers an ocean view and will be open daily for lunch and dinner.

The Mexican restaurant is the third restaurant by Blue Plate dining group with two existing restaurants, Blue Plate and Blue Plate Oysterette, in Santa Monica.

Sneak Peek: Blue Plate Taco

The aforementioned chilaquiles ($15) are served salmon belly, shaved egg, ground masa, cilantro, lime paprika and chorizo oil, and choice of nine homemade salsas. Salads, a variety of tacos, grilled seafood and meats, will also be served. Agua frescas will rotate daily with seasonal fruits, such as watermelon, strawberry and elderflower; mango and ginger; and prickly pear and hibiscus ($12 with choice of rum, vodka or tequila).

Blue Plate will open at 11:30 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For reservations, call (310) 458-2985.
