Fraiche's Replacement Has a Name: Face

New window sign at the downtown spot says to expect the "Newest Experience in Contemporary Chinese Cuisine!"

There is reportedly a new clue in the Fraiche replacement mystery.

Eater LA said Tuesday the new restaurant at 312 Wilshire Blvd. finally has a name: Face.

A new window sign says Face is "coming soon," and to expect "the Newest Experience in Contemporary Chinese Cuisine!"

Friache closed its Santa Monica outpost early in January after three years serving up a blend of French and Italian food.

Earlier window signs said the business was closed for decorating and would reopen in March. The signs also said, "Peking duck is the biggest surprise!"

A new website said a chef named Le Yang, who had previously served as the executive chef at Mr. Chow, was taking over. But that turned out to be false.
