Funk, Rock Bands Will Play Main Street June 24

Sixteen bands are signed on for the annual Rock the SOULstice event.

Rock to cover bands mimicking the likes of the Grateful Dead and Neil Young June 24 during Main Street's annual summer kickoff, "Rock the SOULstice."

Six stages will line the beach-side thoroughfare from 1 to 7 p.m. Sixteen rock 'n' roll, acoustic, electric and funk bands are scheduled to perform.

The free event presented by the Main Street Business Improvement District will also feature a weekend long sidewalk sale, so expect good deals on clothing and accessories from local boutiques.

Bands scheduled to perform are: Helios Jive, Highway 61 Revisited, The Neil Deal, Cubensis- Greatful Dead Music Tribute, Southbound, Petty Theft, Stone Soul, Bonne Musique Zydeco, The Funky Hippeez, Dr. Wu, Good Cop Bad Cop, Seville Ohio Trio+3, Paul Chesne Band, Texas House Party, Minus Ned and The Gumbo Brothers.
