This week's planner is filled with stars, yoga and Sesame Street.

Hi parents! Thanks for checking out the latest edition of Santa Monica Patch's Grab & Go Kids Planner. We do all the research here and present you with the top five family events that are right in your neighborhood or, at the very least, a really short drive.

• STARGAZING

Where/When: 's John Drescher Planetarium, Friday at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m

Why Go: This 50-minute show re-creates the night sky, so you budding astronomers can gaze at the stars and learn the very latest about the planets, stars and space. And you’ll leave feeling pretty darn smart too!

• SEUSS-TACULAR

Where/When: , Mar. 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Why Go: It’s going to be quite a party! There will be juggling, magic and crafts! And since it’s the Dr. Seuss’ birthday, naturally, green eggs will be served. (As we mentioned in , the Zimmer Children’s Museum stages a Seuss birthday party of its own on Sunday.)

• TYKES ON TRAILS

Where/When: Franklin Canyon Park, Mar. 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Why Go: On this preschooler-friendly walk, ant trails will be examined, lizards possibly spotted and animal habits discussed—all under the knowledgeable eye of your Children’s Nature Institute docent.

Pricing: $25 for the first child; $10 for each subsequent child

• SESAME STREET PRESENTS: THE BODY

Where/When: Discovery Science Center, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Find your way to the familiar and fun neighborhood of Sesame Street, where kids of just about any age will learn about the human body in this interactive exhibit. Plus, rumors of appearances by a certain fuzzy red monster are rampant ...

Pricing: 2 and under, free; 3 and up, $9.95; Adults, $12.95

• YOGABUDDIES

Where/When: Annenberg Community Beach House, Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Why Go: While you enjoy the adult class, your kids will learn the basic poses of yoga, giving them increased flexibility and strength, as well as better concentration. And you’ll both be practicing your techniques in a lovely setting. Afterward, frolic on the beach or grab a snack at Back to the Beach. Either way, it's a relaxing way to start a Sunday!
