Patch Picks: Rainy-Day Destinations

Given all the rain we've been getting lately, we suggest some go-to places where you can have fun while keeping dry.

Here in Santa Monica, we've gotten our fair share of rain in recent months—at least relative to this part of the country. With more drops due Friday, we've cobbled together a list of our favorite places to go when it's wet outside.

Putting the Library at the top of the list is to be commended. One of my favorite resources are the conference rooms (Library card required) that one can check out in 2 hour blocks. The cafe in the middle is also a pleasant touch. You can get your snack or coffee needs met without having to wander too far. Good call. B. Y.

I think it's great that you included Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. Heal the Bay--whose members also help to conduct outreach to anglers about fish contamination at Santa Monica pier--partners with the aquarium to offer volunteer opportunities: http://www.healthebay.org/Santa%20Monica%20Pier%20Aquarium/get-involved Looks like a great list. -Herwin Fish Contamination Education Collaborative
