See Who's Offering Healthy Menus for Santa Monica's 'Eat Well Week'

More than a dozen restaurants, including Upper West, Locando del Lago and Zengo, are introducing new menus that will help you slim down after the holiday chow-down.

In celebration of California Restaurant Month and to launch Santa Monica's inaugural Eat Well Week, top local restaurants will introduce new, healthy menus for a limited time starting Monday.

Sixteen restaurants are participating, with some offering options more healthy than others (a selection of menus are below). Prices range from $29 to $45 for a pre-fixe menu and from $8.95 to $39 for a single entrée.

In addition to those listed below, participating restaurants include BOA Steakhouse, Jiraffe, Dhaba Cuisine of India, True Food Kitchen, Shoop's Delicatessen, Le Pain Quotidien and The Lobster.

I applaud SM's effort to encourage and promote healthy eating, and thank the restaurants who are participating for making an effort to focus on health as part of their cuisine. It looks like some have done a better job than others but why quibble? It's a great start!
