SecondSpin.com Finds New Santa Monica Home

After threat of closure, one of the only record and used-DVD and CD stores in the city is relocating.

SecondSpin.com will spin again in Santa Monica.

The store, one of a very limited number in the city that sells, buys and trades new and used vinyl, DVDs and CDs, is relocating from its current location at Wilshire Boulevard and 14th Street about 1½ miles east to 3122 Santa Monica Blvd., near Franklin Street.

Signs advertising the new home were posted to storefront windows in the past week or so. Employees said they were unsure when the new location would open.

The inventory at the current location, which will shut its doors at the end of January, is pretty much cleared out thanks to monster sales over the past couple of months.

Because of the sales, it appeared SecondSpin was vacating Santa Monica permanently. Then, a real estate broker for the property said he was trying to work out a deal with the business.

As of Monday, the property was still listed as available for rent on parcommercial.com.
