Firestone Walker Brewery is said to be preparing to open a new restaurant, taproom and offices in Venice next year. Based in central California, Firestone Walker is the state’s fourth-largest craft brewery.

Video game developer Konami Digital Entertainment announced the opening of its new video game development studio in Playa del Rey. The Japanese video game company said the Playa del Rey studios will house Kojima Productions with teams dedicated to developing the company's well-known Metal Gear Solid franchise.
