Truxton’s American Bistro Opens In Santa Monica

The American restaurant expanded its Westchester location to serve Santa Monica its eclectic menu and an unlabeled wine program.

Truxton’s American Bistro offers something for everyone from vegetarians, children to health conscious eaters. Owners Tim Foley and John Kaufmann opened their new location on the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Fourteenth Street yesterday.

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner during the week and offers a breakfast menu on weekends. Dine in and catering options offer everything from sandwiches, pizza, salads and appetizers. The full bar boasts seasonal cocktails, imported and domestic beers and a unique wine program organized by Manager Lou Moench.

Unlabeled wine casks directly from wineries will be categorized as either varietal, vintage or by region. Served in carafes raging from $26-$40, Moench’s idea is to challenge opinions on labels and brands. Wine casks, which resemble wooden barrels, also help lower bottling and distribution costs.
