Tudor House to Close

Proprietors say that after several decades in business, it's time to close the Second Street restaurant and tea house.

on the Third Street Promenade is preparing to close its doors, the LookOut News reports.

The , a quiet, elegant British tearoom and restaurant at 1403 2nd St. has suffered in the economic downturn and is preparing to shutter after 50 years in business. 

Proprietor Teresa Dulley, who raised her children at the tea house, told the news site that the demographics are changing in Santa Monica. “Our customers were British or Americans who spent time in Europe and are looking for a good cup of tea,” she told the LookOut. “But it’s gotten so expensive here that people had to just move on. So maybe it’s time.”
