Veterans' Benefits and Home Care

As Elderly and Senior individuals age, the cost of daily living can rise unexpectedly and exponentially -  especially when the individual needs care that isn't fully covered by Medicaid or a private insurance plan.

Luckily for U.S. Veterans, the Veteran Administration can provide financial aid to eligible veterans whose household income doesn't exceed the maximum set forth by the VA and other requirements such as being at least 65 years old or having served at least 90 days of active duty with at least one day during a wartime period.

Veterans' Pension is designed to be more strict about the low-income requirement, but for the Aid & Attendance Benefit, some veterans can still be eligible even if their income exceeds the Maximum Annual Pension Rate.

Aid & Attendance applicants must require the in-home assistance of another individual to perform activities of daily living such as walking, preparing meals, dressing, managing personal hygiene, etc.

If you're an Elderly or Senior Veteran who needs both home care and Veterans' Benefits, the case managers at A-1 Home Care can help.

Home Care can be expensive, but is a cheaper and more preferred alternative to nursing homes or intermediate care facilities.  Our case managers can help you apply for Veterans' Benefits at any stage of the process - whether it's determining eligibility, submitting an online application, or planning what to include in an evidence report for the Aid & Attendance Benefit.

Qualifying for VA Benefits can provide you the necessary funds on a monthly basis to assist with the costs of daily living or home care services.

A-1 Home Care is a Licensed Bonded and Insured non-medical homecare agency that provides a variety of in-home care services for Elderly, Senior, and Terminally Ill individuals in Santa Monica, CA and other communities in the Greater Los Angeles Area and Orange County.
