Moms Talk: When Fever Strikes

What happens to your family when you get sick?

We're now in the midst of germ season. Sniffling, coughing, runny noses, aches, pains, random infections...all are coming home with your child.

There is no sight more pathetic than your sick little one, clutching a wad of tissues and sad at the prospective of no play dates or school activities. As a mother, it's challenging to keep them entertained on their way to health but at least you can keep the many balls you juggle in the air.

Until the germs hit you. Then the everything falls down. Unfortunately most of the time, you don't have the luxury to stay in bed during your recovery nor have someone bring you ornage juice or make sure your favorite movie is at the ready. You've got to keep going with all the 137 tasks you perform everyday so the whole family life doesn't crumble.

Find out what's happening in Santa Monicawith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Sometimes though, you just can't trudge through. What do you do when you get really sick? Who helps you out? Do have a backup plan for your kids if you're down and out for a while?
