Local Businesses Sponsor Anti Drug Workshop for Parents and Children in Local Schools

Local businesses are sponsoring a free Anti Drug workshop for parents and children this month. As local schools host Anti Drug events for Red Ribbon week, Community Outreach is excited to provide this service to the community and help educate parents and children about some easy and super powerful techniques to help kids say NO to drugs.

The seminar coming up on Saturday October 19 at 10:15 am will include a 1 hour interactive presentation for parents and children. It will teach super powerful techniques for helping kids and parents work together to communicate about the negatives of drugs. It will also, most importantly, teach children how they can confidently say NO to drugs and walk away from people or situations where drugs are involved.

This workshop will be presented by “Family Safety Expert” Brett Lechtenberg. Brett has been helping to empower local children for 25 years. He has taught a number of courses for local children including Goal Setting for Good Grades, Anti Bullying seminars, Know and Go safety courses, and, of course, Anti Drug empowerment talks.

Lysa Scarano, who recently attended a workshop taught by Brett Lechtenberg, said, “I loved how interactive it was, he really kept everyone’s attention and drove the message home to the kids.” All of Brett’s workshops focus on interaction, because he knows that the children and their parents will retain more information and learn more as they become invested in the message and are engaged with the process of learning.
